Problem

The plant had been cleaning the ID fan in every major planned shutdown, but emergency shutdown still occurred due to dust accumulation on ID fan impeller that caused over vibration only after a month in operation. Due to this problem, the plant had to decrease its kiln capacity in order to keep the ID fan running within the acceptable vibration values.

Solution

Installing a Sonic Horn on the ID fan had been recommended for the plant to address the problem. Sonic Horn is a proven technology that prevents dust accumulation in many applications. It creates mechanical vibration using the sound energy generated from the diaphragm to dislodge dust.

Benefit

With the installation of Sonic Horn, the results are satisfactory that the plant manages to maintain the vibration values of the ID fan at minimum.
