Rotating Disc Valve Installation for Utility ESP in Indonesia

Application

A Coal Fired Power Plan t in Indonesia with capacity 2 x 100 MW.

Problem

The ESP was running since 2016.
Existing ash handling system was pneumatic system with dome valve for the inlet valve . The problem that they’re facing is leakage in disc of the dome valve that caused clogging. Based on End User information’s, that existing dome valve ’s charging ring often worn out Charging ring worn out in dome valve will find failure on ash transferring . Thus problem will bother ash transferring because of air pressure leakage which is make air pressure not enough , besides of clogging issue.

Solution

Due to problems faced by the customer, it is not possible to keep using the dome valve. So, we suggested rotating disc valve (RDV) to replace existing dome valve. Because this design has a unique function, shearing disc, has self-lapping rotation with seal ring during operation, while it can prevent particles lodging on the surface to provide excellent sealing condition. And it can be automatically plug and play with dome valve type.

Benefit

Tai & Chyun replaced 1 set of Rotating valve. There is a spring inside to push
up the disc close to casing during worn out condition, so this characteristic is
superior for long life time of valve usage. The customer was satisfied with our RDV
because it is easy to install and well supervised from our engineer.
