Elbow Pipe Installation for ESP in a Pulp & Paper Plant

Application

Elbow pipe installation of  ESP for a Multi-Fuel Boiler in a Pulp & Paper Plant in Indonesia.

Problem

The original elbow pipe was not ceramic-lined and leakage frequently occurred. Such pipe leakage hinders the transfer process of ash from an ESP hopper to the ash silo. The plant had tried to solve this problem by patching the leakage portion with cement. Nevertheless, the issue persisted.

Solution

Tai & Chyun recommended an elbow pipe with ceramic liner and offered 1 piece as a trial before the plant decided to purchase 10 sets of ceramic elbow pipes that came with ceramic straight pipes for connecting both ends of the elbow pipes with the rest of the piping system.

Benefit

The ceramic elbow pipe provided by Tai & Chyun is durable that it extends the lifespan of usage. The new ceramic-lined elbow pipe achieved the plant’s satisfaction as there is no longer any need to deal with the leakage issue.
